Mimi believes in showing up BIG for her students. This means holding space for them to move and breathe. She feels the power in the physicality of yoga is rooted in its ability to transport students away from the actively thinking mind, and instead allow them to dive into how they feel through cultivating an acute awareness of breath and body. In her classes, you will find playful and creative sequences focused on breath and alignment, with the main emphasis on her students, encouraging them to do what feels best in their body. While she views a certain amount of instruction is essential, Mimi sees her key role as a teacher to support whoever shows up for class in a way that helps each individual step into their most authentic selves on, and off the mat.
Mimi is an E-RYT 200. She received her certification from Charleston Power Yoga, a Baptiste Affiliate Studio, in 2014. She has a degree in communications & political science from the College of Charleston in South Carolina. Aside from teaching, you can find Mimi coordinating weddings and events, hiking, chillin’ in savasana with her lovable mutt, Max, or planning her next travel adventure.
